I'm an analyst ('Specialist') in the Workforce Planning group at Verizon Communications. This means that I work on Microsoft Excel or Access all day, every day. Working for Verizon with a couple hundred thousand employees I deal with large files. I put vast amounts of data into a form managers can use to improve decision making. I have my MBA with a concentration in Information Systems and a class focus in Finance. I work with spreadsheets, databases, networks and systems and various financial issues.

» Virginia Episcopal School
For High School I attended a boarding school in Lynchburg Virginia. It had its moments.

» University of Richmond
For my undergraduate degree I attended the University of Richmond. My major was American Studies which for me meant mostly English and History classes, but more importantly meant heavy amounts of partying and socializing.

» Newport News Waterworks
After college I took a one year Internship at Newport News Waterworks.

» The Grooms Corner
While waiting to make the decision if I was going back to school for my Masters in Business Administration, I moved back to Richmond and took a job in Sales and eventually as a store manager.

» Viginia Commonwealth University
I eventually returned to school to prove that I was capable of getting good grades. Too much partying in my undergraduate lead to poor grades. Returning to school allowed me to add an educational experience to my resume that was more Academically successful. It also allowed me to find the two areas I was most comfortable working with, Finance and Information Technology.

» First Union Securities
As my return to school was coming to a close, I took an internship with Wheat First Securities, later First Union Securities, later Wachovia Securities. This was a facinating look at Investment Strategy.

» Ferris Baker Watts
I left my internship to take another job in Finance while I finished my degree. At Ferris, Baker Watts, I was an associate equity analyst researching Property & Casualty Insurance Stocks. I found that I really didn't like this area of finance. I am a very quantitative person who loves to get into the numbers. Marketing is not my thing.

» Verizon Communications
I currently work for Verizon. I work in the Workforce Planning group, and I am able to do all the quant-work I can handle.
